Back to the daily grind...

Journal Entry: Wed Dec 15, 2010, 3:30 PM

Back from the Land of the Long White Cloud!

I want to go back dammit! It was such an amazing place, we managed to fit so much in I need a holiday after this holiday! After exploring the South Island for about a week and a half I'm convinced it's the most beautiful place on earth...
The scenery, the lakes and mountains and Milford Sound, I cant begin to explain how awesome that place is and I'm not entirely sure the photos I took even do it justice! All the fiords carved out of the mountains plunging into the water, there are waterfalls, rainforest clinging to shear rock faces and not to mention the dolphins!
Queenstown was a little unhinged as always, Did the Nevis Arc...twice! For anyone who doesnt know what this is, you have got to Youtube it...those bloody Kiwi's are insane!
Hopefully I'll have some photos up soon, although with Xmas around the corner I'll more than likely be dragged round the shops instead! ;p
Thanks to everyone for all the faves, comments and great feedback! I do really appreciate the encouragement :D
So I hope everyone has a great Xmas and New Years!

A big thank you!

Also, I'd just like to say a big thanks to the GetWatchers community! You guys have given some great feedback on my photos and I really appreciate the support! :D

Wow really? you were one of those crazy bastards cycling around with all the packs up through the mountains?? Those guys are mad! haha...we were a little lazier with the campervan :p but yeah its such a cool place, everything is really so close together when you compare it to Aus...I only wish I had more time in each place to explore some more rather than trying to cram a lot of stuff in and then only really seeing the most touristy spots...but oh well, I'll just have to go back!

Yeah it was great, especially the South Island, there were almost more campervans than there were cars! If you've got kids you'll need one of the bigger ones, they've got a shower (pretty hopeless) and toilet but all the camper sites we stayed at had amazing facilities...but if you do feel like roughing it there are thousands of campsites all over the place...but if you go in the peak times it can be a little pricey and somewhat overcrowded...but even then it not even close to being as busy as like Sydney touristy places...plus there's so much to do you'd be hard pressed to get bored! plus it'd be easy to palm off the kids for a few hours to go do an activity!
